Movement

On this page, I will explore how movement affect our energy levels.

I hesitate to use the word ‘exercise’. As Brian Johnson points out in his Energy 101 course, the importance of movement to our energy levels is not restricted simply to the benefits of aerobic and anaerobic exercise. Simply getting up from our chairs and moving, stretching, or walking every 20 minutes or so. As Joan Vernacos, the head of NASA’s health department, says the body’s basic physiology begins to change after 20 minutes of being sedentary. You can wake up the body just by getting up and moving throughout the day.

So I will explore the science of why movement is so critical to our energy cycle. I will read articles and books by the experts to find out what advice they can offer us. Then I will experiment with applying those tips and tricks to my own life. Finally, I will make my conclusions about what seems to work best from what I’ve found.
