Current ongoing experiments

Now that I have researched three out of the seven or eight realms of personal energy I plan on covering, my list of personal experiments has grown enough to deserve its own post. Also, I quickly recap the realms of personal energy I’m researching and their books:

  1. Breath – Finished reading Breath by James Nestor
  2. Sleep – Finished reading Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker
  3. Hydration – Finished reading Quench by Dr. Dana Cohen and Gina Bria
  4. Diet – Plan on reading Mitochondria Diet or Energy Diet
  5. Movement – Plan on reading Limitless or Eat Move Sleep

With only Breath, Sleep, and Hydration under my belt, I have assembled the following self-experiments, most of which I continue daily:

Breathing Experiments

  2. Nasal breaths while taking the stairs

  5. Breathe right strips
  6. Saline rinse for allergies

Sleep Experiments

  1. Sleep tape
  2. Breathe right strips
  3. Cooler bedroom temperatures
  4. Blackout curtains
  5. Air filter
  6. Humidifier with essential oils
  7. No caffeine 8 hours before bedtime
  8. No liquids after 5 PM
  9. No screens 1 hour before bedtime
  10. Low blue light LED light bulbs
  11. Blue light blocking glasses

Hydration Experiments

  1. Humidifier
  2. Lower caffeine
  3. Sleep tape
  4. Smoothies
  5. More fruits and vegetables
  6. MCT oil
  7. Massage gun
  8. Stretching daily
  9. Drinking 32 oz of water with electrolytes before coffee
